About
Howdy!

My name is Maggie Bailey, and I hold space for others to explore their own journeys using a type of energy work called Integrated Energy Therapy (IET). IET can help connect the mind and body, release old patterns, relax into the real you, and create new, beautiful experiences. To book a distance-healing session, go here.
Early Days
When I was 14, I had what some might call a 'vision' or a 'knowing'. I was sitting in the living room after school by myself, under the big windows, on a sunny day, probably eating sliced cheese, and in an instant, I felt a voice, a shift, or a wave come into me and give me knowledge that "IT is everything. IT is love, IT is IT, IT is me, IT is you, IT is matter, IT is time, IT is all, back and forth, up and down, and IT is IT. IT IS LOVE."
'IT' didn't 'speak' these specific words, but I felt the knowing came from some outward source that 'whooshed' into me in an instant. It had given me the comforting knowledge that Love is the ultimate answer to all my questions. Love would be my guiding light, my bedrock, my air and water, and my forever healer.
I felt I became a different person with new knowledge and my life was changed in that moment. The feeling was extremely profound, and I ran to my room and tried to write everything down that had just been downloaded into my head. And, also, like many of my great life transformations, I set it aside not knowing what to do with it, and I am sure I went back to eating my beloved after-school cheese snack and watching music videos.
I have had many other 'bizarre', beautiful, and heartfelt experiences throughout my life, and they have pointed me to the fields of spirituality, healing, scientifically-unexplained phenomena, dreams, psychology, and mostly, my own journey to find myself.
I was born and raised in Arkansas in the American South, with three years in the southern Appalachian Mountains in Alabama. My parents moved around when my brother and I were young, and they always chose a place on the water ~ a river, pond, lake, or creek ~ out in the country. Growing up in the woods instilled the deep love and need for nature in my life and helped me learn the languages that our natural world speaks.
I remember being young and aware of how special, connected, and beautiful life was. My mom is a dog groomer and artist, my dad an engineer, and they are both problem-solvers with highly creative minds. They raised my brother and I to be kind, considerate of others, work hard, have fun, appreciate good food, and be outdoors. Having this bedrock of upbringing plus my own exploration of my physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual place in this world has brought me closer to Self, my true self, and one that seems to be connected to the entire universe.
During my formative years, I got a healthy dose of work ethic, studying, partying, backroading, making soul friends, and all the good and wild times. College brought more work and study, live music, bars, activism, late-night backroading and additional soul friends. I also had anxiety, panic attacks, 'big T' and 'little t' traumas, codependency, substances, C-PTSD, disordered eating, and other navigations along the way. I studied Art, Education, and Environmental Science at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, graduating in 2007.
In 2006, I met a handsome, hillbilly-hippie-biologist-gone-forester, married him in 2012, and we made long and short-term homes in Arkansas, California, Louisiana, Tennessee, and Colorado, where we now reside with our two kiddos, a cat and a dog. We had two incredible home births in rural Tennessee: our daughter was born in 2015, and our son in 2017. We have had the blessings of living in gorgeous places and raising our kids among friends and family surrounded by mountains, valleys, and rivers.

How to Heal
I have followed my husband's forestry career around the country, nursing babies, raising toddlers, and jumping into multiple part-time jobs at each station. I learned trades across the board, met wonderful people, acquired random, fascinating skills, all the while knowing I was "supposed" to be an artist and a healer, whatever that meant.

The art part is easy: I am an artist, whether or not I create art. Seeing, feeling, sensing, and understanding the world through the lens of art, design, creativity, and color is my lifeblood. It is the constant when I wake, dream, and how I interpret my environment. I use it to heal parts of myself, and help others on similar paths. I draw, paint, stitch, sew, write, mold, fix, glue, design, press, cut, bead, organize, collage, nail, mail, cook, clean, bake, garden, and share quite a bit of it with my family and friends. I love art and it feeds my soul.
The healing part has had more questions: I have pathways of healing myself (and find new ways every day); how do I help others to do the same? Be a good listener? Model and mirror? Have conversations, connections? Laugh and clink glasses?
How do I start a business as a healer or helper while protecting my own energy, 'doing no harm', and resolving my own major issues as to not project them onto others? How do I start a business while raising kids and animals, convincing my family there is actual income involved, and learning to trust myself and build confidence? It is a work in progress, and the beauty is in the process.
In order to answer these questions, reduce anxiety, and find help and myself along the way, I have been in therapy since 2014, with many therapists in different states. I have taken trainings, workshops, courses, certifications, read books, and journaled on all my interests, ever trying to resolve each issue at hand. I tried grad school for counseling, but wasn't ready to give up time with my young children. I have discovered healing modalities in the peripherals of being a partner, mother, worker, moving cross-country, and navigating mental health. I've wondered how I convert my deep, ethereal passions into an income-generating career. For years, I have denied this creative endeavor out of fear of unconventionality, while also daydreaming about it daily.
What I have learned from all this work is simple and profound: IT IS LOVE. Love is the ultimate answer to all my questions, and what has driven me to find myself. When I come back to using love as my key to unlock life's hardships, I can usually get somewhere, even if just a few inches. Working on self-love, love in relationship, love in art and creativity, and love in healing myself and holding space for others, I have found great beauty in the world. There are daily struggles; I am challenged all the time, often severely; and also recognize that this is the nature of humanity and Earthly-living.
IET
In 2011, I met my friend, Vicki Elkins. We both were attending a writer's circle at our local library. I was sharing a professional letter I wanted critiqued by the group, and she was writing a children's book based on her sweet dog, Molly, who was entering her elder years. Vicki was looking for an illustrator, and I mentioned being an artist, so she gave me her card. Her card indicated that she did Angel Healing and energy work (what!?), and my eyes lit up.
Fast forward some time, and we became good friends; having delightful, creative conversations about life and love and all the things. We ended up doing a trade: I did the watercolor illustrations for her book, and she trained me in four levels of Integrated Energy Therapy (IET) energy work, which sparked so much of my inner path to healing.
It has now been 15 years since learning IET, I have used it here and there, though haven't created a job around it. That is changing now. I am providing sessions, and if interested, book here.
I have been through some hard times and some wonderful times in this life, and am learning how to incorporate these stories into my body, mind and spirit.
